Who is... Shane O´Neill (Original Version)

I would give him The Best Rookie Award in the instant. This Aussie named Shane O´Neill struck skateboarding out of the blue and amazed almost everyone with his high technical level of skateboarding. Due to these outstanding skills he earned himself a spot at Nike SB amateur team and filmed a videopart to theirs newest HD masterpiece called Debacle. He also became a ´favorite-guy-to-film-with´ of Berrics filmers, who gave him a lot of space in theirs on-line posts such as Trickipedia, Bangin´, First Try Fridays and so on. There is no doubt why they did this – Shane has such an amazing style and often brings his technical skateboarding to the boil. The fact that he´s going on switch or regular stopped being important a long ago and it doesn´t matter if he´s landing switch flip down twelve or struggling regular with tricks like backside bigspins to switch front crooks revert. Through all these superlatives Shane O´Neill seems to be a ´down-to-earth´ person who lets skateboarding talking for himself. Where does your nickname „Nugget“ come from?
My friend called me that about 6 years ago, because he knew a guy with the nickname ´Nugget´, but he didnt like that guy. So he called me that instead, hah.

Have you a slight idea where the Czech republic is? Or do you know something about us?
I actually dont really know much at all about Czech republic

What do you do besides skating?
I go out and hang out with my friends and just relax. I go bowling a fair bit.

How did you get noticed in Australia? Or how did you become a real amateur for Nike?
I have been on Nike over here in Australia for about 5 years and the American team would come over here once a year. I went on a few trips with them and i guess they liked me, so they got me out there.

Would you rather still live in Australia and let the filmers come shoot you in Oz or are you satisfied with living and filming in States and travelling around the globe?
I love living in Australia, but i also like staying in the US, because there are a lot more opportunities there for me. Plus i love to travel.

What is some other country you can imagine yourself living in?
Maybe Chile, or somewhere in South America like that.

What was the best part of this years ´Don´t Fear the Sweeper´ American Nike tour?
I was actually on the whole trip so i have a lot of good memories from that. One of the funnest times i had was in Miami, we all did a big demo at the indoor park there and then just went and had some fun by the beach.

What is the worst thing about living in America? >
I find that a lot of people are really rude in general and it gets pretty annoying.

How does a typical day of „Nuggets“ look like?
When I´m here in Melbourne I usually go meet up with my friends in the city and go skate around all day. Sometimes film but mostly just cruise around. Then at night i either go out in the town or just hang out. play Call of Duty, haha.

Do you still watch skate videos before skating? Which one of recent skatevideos and video parts hypes you the most?
Yeah, I watch skate videos all the time. I like the Alien Workshop video a lot, I watch that a fair bit.

I´ve heard a rumour that you´re not skating for Nike anymore? Is that true?
Thats definetely a crazy rumour. I am still on nike and plan to be for a long time. Nike SB is one of my favourite companies, they make great shoes and treat me well.

What is your favorite Berrics obstacle?
Haha, at the new park it would be the little rail down the 5 stair. Its nice and mellow, so you can try whatever you want on it.

Do you have any last words for our readers?
Thanks for the support. Hopefully I´ll get to come to Czech republic one day.
